Charles E. Creissen
I studied Chemistry at the University of Sussex where I received an MChem in 2014. I subsequently joined the University of Cambridge in 2014 as a member of the NanoDTC programme and obtained an MRes (Physics, 2015) and a PhD (Chemistry, 2019), in which I developed solar-driven devices for hydrogen evolution using a combination of molecular and solid-state components, under the supervision of Professor Erwin Reisner. I then worked as a Postdoc and Research Engineer at the Collège de France, Paris (2019-2022) with Professor Marc Fontecave, where my research explored heterogeneous electrocatalysts for carbon dioxide conversion and water oxidation. I joined Keele University in July 2022 as a Lecturer in Physical Chemistry. I am interested in developing sustainable catalysts for the conversion of waste products and greenhouse gases and will explore novel technologies to tackle climate change.
